TOOL DESIGN ENGINEER
Long Island City, NY
As a Tool Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of various tools and equipment required to manufacture automotive parts in SMP's Vehicle Control Division. You will work closely with design and manufacturing engineers to ensure product quality and manufacturing standards are met. This is an exciting position for a hands-on candidate passionate about tooling, machinery, testing & automation.
Responsibilities include :
To qualify, you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, 5 years of tool design experience, and have at least 5 years of experience in a 3D modeling environment. Knowledge of tool design principles related to manufacturing processes and understanding of Controls Principles for the integration of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic systems will be expected. Proficiency in the use of SOLIDWORKS CAD software is highly preferred. Excellent oral / written communication, problem-solving, organizational, and PC skills are all essential.

The estimated salary range for this position is $90,000- $120,000.
