Executive Underwriter, AIG Risk Management (AIGRM)

How you will create an impact
The Executive Underwriter will be responsible for underwriting the Workers' Compensation, General Liability and Auto Liability primary Casualty product lines and typically manages accounts / clients that are most complex. This includes :
- Developing and managing underwriting strategies for both renewals and prospects within his / her portfolio of accounts.
- Developing and implementing negotiation strategies.
- Making independent sales calls to market and cross-market products.
- Providing technical direction to management, less senior specialists, producers, and claims adjusting personnel.
- Collaborating with Distribution, Territory Managers, and other line(s) of business underwriters to target desirable accounts and cross selling opportunities from brokers.
- Rapidly evaluating, prioritizing, and selecting submissions to be underwritten.
- Recognizing and creating cross sell opportunities for other Commercial products.
- Collaborating with broker to understand the deal structure, terms, and AIG Services that best meets clients' needs.
- May review, evaluate and make recommendations to underwriting guidelines.
- May direct or conduct internal underwriting audits.
- Negotiating pricing, terms & conditions, and deal structure with brokers and clients.
- Participating in special underwriting projects as needed.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need :
5+ years of Commercial Insurance Company, Agency, or Brokerage experience.Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.Advanced working knowledge of US Casualty lines of business (Workers' Compensation, Auto Liability, and General Liability) including product features, forms, regulatory environments, and risks etc.Demonstrated sales, marketing, and relationship building experience.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Highly motivated and results oriented.Ability to work in dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions.Expert with underwriting analytical tools and technology.Ready to step up to new challenges? We would love to hear from you. For positions based in Chicago, the base salary range is $105,000 - $130,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
