Position Summary
As a CNA with Westminster Village North, you will care for residents under direction of nursing and medical staff. You will care for residents by performing the following duties :
1. Prepare each resident for the day and / or night by assisting with bathing, dressing, toileting, and activities of daily living.
2. Obtain resident vital signs in accordance with departmental policy; read and accurately record temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, and weight.
3. Promptly and accurately document all required resident information in the medical record, such as oral intake, fluid intake, urinary output, bowel movements, daily skin assessments, activities of daily living, etc.
4. Assist residents with the following in accordance with their specific care plan :
5. Respond to resident call lights and other types of requests for assistance in a timely manner and provide or obtain the necessary care or assistance.
6. Address resident toileting needs and incontinence issues in accordance with state and federal regulations and infection control procedures. Change incontinent residents as needed. Distribute, clean and remove bedpans and urinals. Rinse dirty linen prior to sending it to the laundry.
7. Provide restorative care and assist non-ambulatory residents with range of motion exercises in accordance with the care plan. Ensure the proper body alignment of
residents.
8. Collect and store medical specimens with direction / oversight from a licensed nurse or nursing supervisor.
9. Pass fresh ice water and nourishments to residents within required time frames.
10. Provide nail care to appropriate residents.
11. Apply non-medicated skin care products as specified in the medical record and / or assignment sheet.
12. Immediately report any unusual symptoms, changes, accidents, and / or injuries to the director of nursing or nursing supervisor.
13. Assist with post-mortem care, as directed.
15. Support and assist with social service, life enrichment and fitness programming.
16. Maintain resident rooms and belongings in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.
17. Stock and obtain necessary supplies and clean nursing equipment (e.g. bedpans,
wheelchairs, etc.) in accordance with scheduled duties or as directed.
Job Qualifications
Required : Successful completion of the certified nursing assistant (C.N.A.) training program as required by the state, pass the state testing requirements, and be in good standing with the state's Nurse Aid Registry program.
Preferred : Two or more years of C.N.A. experience in a senior care setting.
