License : Valid state nursing license required at time of submission
Certifications : BLS, ACLS, IV start, telemetry, vents
Must-Have :
Proficiency in managing complicated postoperative patients, including multiple drains, vasoactive drips, and mechanical ventilation.
Experience with recovery from general anesthesia.
Epic charting experience required.
Description :
The Registered Nurse will primarily rotate between the Post Anesthesia Care Unit and the pre / post interventional radiology area within the unit.
Shifts are three 12-hour night shifts from 9 : 00 PM to 9 : 00 AM, Monday through Friday.
Variable start times may apply.
The nurse will manage a patient ratio of 1 : 2.
There is an on-call requirement, with 24 hours of call per six-week scheduling periods as needed.
There are no weekend requirements.
The patient population includes a variety of surgical patients such as gynecological, colorectal, bariatric, urinary, and some ENT procedures.
The unit is a Level I trauma center, necessitating proficiency in handling complex postoperative cases.
The ideal candidate will be skilled in managing patients with mechanical ventilation and understanding vasoactive medications.
RNs may be required to float within service lines to meet facility needs.
No more than seven days of requested time off is allowed during the contract period.
Candidates must pass a basic EKG exam and demonstrate necessary critical care competencies.
