Job Summary :

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is a hands-on role responsible for overseeing the facility's maintenance, sanitation, and automation preventive maintenance (PM) programs. This individual will ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of all systems across the operation - including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, automation, and sanitation infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in manufacturing automation, as well as working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and sanitation systems. This role also serves as an integral part of the Safety Team, leading local implementation of national safety standards, preventive maintenance initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

  • Lead and direct maintenance, automation, and sanitation staff in daily activities and PM schedules.
  • Assign and prioritize maintenance and sanitation work orders based on operational needs.
  • Train team members on preventive maintenance, automation troubleshooting, and safety best practices.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and automation partners for specialized service and support.

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Oversee the daily maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all facility systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Administer the maintenance, sanitation, and automation preventive maintenance (PM) programs, ensuring consistent execution and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate automation and control systems with support from automation vendors when necessary.
  • Ensure operational efficiency of all building systems, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, safety, and waste management.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing facility maintenance and sanitation.
  • Serve as a key member of the Safety Team, helping implement new national safety standards and monitoring adherence across departments.
  • Track, review, and close work orders to ensure completion, quality, and budget compliance.
  • Support the Facilities Manager or GM with facility budgeting, audits, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain high standards of facility cleanliness, organization, and safety across production, warehouse, and office spaces.
  • Required Skills / Abilities :

  • At least 21 years of age per state law.
  • Hands-on experience with automation systems - including preventive maintenance, basic programming / troubleshooting, and integration support.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and sanitation systems.
  • Strong leadership and project coordination skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, CMMS platforms, and work order systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, preventive maintenance, and operational excellence.
  • Education and Experience :

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of facilities maintenance experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Prior experience in automation maintenance or manufacturing systems is required.
  • OSHA, EPA, or trade certifications (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or sanitation) preferred.
