Description :

Position available for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse.

This is a night shift position working 12-hour shifts.

The unit consists of 18 beds.

Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience in Labor and Delivery.

First-time travelers are accepted.

There are no weekend requirements.

Candidates are required to have current certifications in ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring.

There is no on-call requirement.

Clinicians may float within the scope to meet facility needs, including floating to Pediatrics based on necessity.

Schedule requests can be discussed with the manager for accommodation.

Local candidates will be accepted with no radius restrictions.

Must have an active state license or be in the application process with an estimated time of arrival to apply.

Requests for time off should ideally not exceed five days.

Candidates may be called off up to 36 hours during the contract without compensation for the canceled hours.

If the hours canceled exceed this limit, compensation will be billed for additional shifts.

Candidates will also need to possess experience in Antepartum Care and Procedures such as the following :

  • Assisting with sterile speculum exams
  • Conducting Non-Stress Tests (NST)
  • Performing Oxytocin Challenge Tests (OCT)
  • Conducting reflex checks and assessing edema
  • Performing sterile vaginal exams
  • Triage of obstetrical patients
  • Using External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM)

    • Required skills also include :

  • Administration of blood and blood products
  • Starting and maintaining peripheral IVs
  • Use of infusion pumps and IV monitoring
  • Administration of medications such as antihypertensives and magnesium sulfate
  • Assisting with high-risk deliveries and circulating for C-sections
  • Recovering C-Sections and performing postpartum care

    • Candidates should be knowledgeable in neonatal care including :

  • Assessing APGAR scores
  • Conducting infant identification and security banding
  • Managing radiant warmers and thermoregulation

    • Additional required skills include :

  • Managing pain and administering epidural anesthesia
  • Providing care for vaginal deliveries and Cesarean sections
  • Conducting wound assessments and managing postpartum hemorrhage
  • Understanding isolation precautions and vaccine administration

    • Previous experience in a community hospital setting is preferred.

    Experience with electronic health record systems is preferred.

    Candidates must adhere to safety and disease prevention measures during patient care.
