Utilities Technician

Summary of
Accountabilities :
Apply industrial maintenance skills and knowledge to install,
operate, maintain, and repair plant utility systems and equipment.
Monitor and record system performance, and
make adjustments to assure the safe and efficient operation of
plant utility systems and equipment.
Initiate
and perform condition monitoring tasks including preventive and
predictive maintenance.
Troubleshoot
equipment failures to ascertain possible failure modes and
participate with operations, plant engineering, suppliers, and
other associates to improve equipment reliability.
Utilize the company’s Enterprise Asset
Management System (EAMS) and supports its use as a key management
information tool.
Recommend, develop, and
implement system modifications to improve equipment operations and
provide for attainment of plant and department goals.
Provide direction and training for less
skilled maintenance personnel and machine operators.
Minimum
Qualifications :
Ability to Pass Garden City Ammonia Level 1 and CARO Certification
Ability to Pass Garden City Ammonia Level 2
and CIRO Certification
Ability to Pass Garden
City Boiler Level 1
2 Year Technical Degree or
4 Years of Industrial Maintenance Experience.
2 years of industrial refrigeration
experience.
Ability to work with a
computerized maintenance management system to identify parts, write
work orders, order parts, and collect specific relevant data.
Strong verbal and written communication
skills.
Experience with complex electrical,
mechanical, and fluid power systems.
Ability
to work a flexible schedule with minimal supervision.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to follow verbal and written
instructions.
Ability to climb a ladder and
work safely in high places.
Ability to lift
and move heavy (+75 Lbs) objects.
Ability to
troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment and systems.
Candidate must be able to work both
independently and within a team environment.
Able to work in a variety of environments (hot and cold) with
his / her body contorted in many positions.
