The goal of a Managed Services Network Engineer is to design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot computer networks within a client organization, ensuring the stability and optimal performance of data, voice, and video communication systems by managing network hardware, software, and infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. The Network Engineer also identifies and resolves network issues, performs upgrades, and collaborates with other IT teams to meet business needs.

What You'll Own
Network design and architecture : Develop network plans, including LANs and WANs, that consider scalability, security, and performance requirements.Network implementation : Install, configure, and deploy network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.Network monitoring and troubleshooting : Monitor network performance, identify and diagnose issues, and resolve network problems related to connectivity, bandwidth, and security.Network maintenance and upgrades : Perform routine maintenance tasks, apply software updates, and implement network upgrades to ensure optimal network functionality.Security management : Implement and maintain network security measures, including access controls, intrusion detection / prevention systems, and data encryption.Capacity planning : Analyze network usage and predict future needs to ensure sufficient bandwidth and resource allocation.Vendor management : work with network equipment vendors to resolve technical issues and negotiate contracts.Documentation and reporting : Maintain detailed network documentation and generate reports on network performance and health.Collaboration with other teams : Work with IT teams like system administrators, security engineers, and application developers to ensure network integration and support.Requirements :
What We're Looking For
Key Technical Skills :
Networking protocols : In-depth knowledge of TCP / IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and network security protocolsNetwork devices configuration : Expertise in configuring network devices like Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access pointsTroubleshooting skills : Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issuesSystem administration skills : Understanding of operating systems, system management tools, and scripting languagesSecurity awareness : Knowledge of network security best practices and threat mitigation strategiesAnalytical skills : Ability to analyze network performance data and identify potential issuesEducation and Certifications :
3 years of relevant experienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) are highly valued.What to Expect
