Credit Analyst – Entry Level
Full-Time | Onsite | $44,720 – $65,000 annually
A well-established community-focused financial institution in Southern Illinois is seeking an entry-level Associate Credit Analyst to join its growing Risk Management team. This role is ideal for someone early in their banking or finance career who is eager to learn commercial, real estate, agricultural, and consumer credit analysis in a structured, supportive environment. You will be trained and mentored by experienced analysts and leadership to develop strong risk assessment skills and understand how credit decisions support safe and sound lending.
The Associate Credit Analyst will review financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, credit reports, collateral, and market conditions to help determine repayment capacity and overall creditworthiness. You will assist in preparing financial spreads, ratio analyses, cash flow models, loan-to-value calculations, and full written credit presentations outlining strengths, weaknesses, risks, and recommendations. This role partners closely with loan officers while maintaining independent judgment and alignment with credit policy and regulatory expectations. You may also assist with annual loan reviews, portfolio monitoring, and audit support.
Successful candidates bring strong attention to detail, curiosity, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. A basic understanding of financial statements is helpful, along with a willingness to learn more advanced credit skills through hands-on training. Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (formulas, formatting, pivots) and comfortable learning new systems.
