CNC Programmer / Mold Maker (1st Shift)
Job Description :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), some college preferred. A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years related experience in plastic injection molds, a minimum of five (5) years’ experience on CNC equipment such as : CNC MILLS, CNC LATTES, EDM’S; and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience using CNC programming software – Unigraphics or Solid Works preferred.
Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary
Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
Oversee daily activity on CNC machines.
CNC programming projects require that you identify various machining operations required to manufacture the finished job in a timely manner, determine the sequence in which the machine operations have to be carried out and the amount of material to be removed in each step of the sequence. Calculate the time required to manufacture to finish the project.
Communicate with direct management and tooling personnel to develop production and design standards within tooling group
Review tooling project schedule based on production planning schedules, engineering specifications, orders and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities for the CNC section with the Tooling group.
Draft and design layout of molds, components, equipment, materials and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using drafting tools and computer. CAD / CAM software
Programming CNC equipment tool paths and tool changes using Master Cam and Solid Works software
Re-design current mold components to improve their efficiency and longevity
Re-design current final molded products as part of the product development process.
Perform dimensional reverse engineering projects to create electronic data bases
Train peers on basic CNC operation
Create CNC files for new components and keep them updated for future reference.
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat and occasional vibration
Noise level is usually very loud and requires hearing PPE.
