THIS ROLE :
The Director of Bid Management is responsible for leading and coordinating the full bid and proposal process for high-value, technically complex projects across Curtin Maritimes business lines. This role serves as the central point of accountability for ensuring that all bids are executed efficiently, consistently, and in strategic alignment with company goals.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this position requires a highly organized and technically fluent project leader who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The Director will work cross-functionally with estimating, operations, finance, engineering, and executive leadership to ensure bids are well-planned, compliant, competitive, and positioned for success.
The ideal candidate is a strong project manager with the ability to coordinate multiple high-performing contributors, maintain progress across complex timelines, and bring structure and accountability to Curtins bid process from start to finish.
WHAT YOULL DO :
Bid Leadership & Oversight
- Oversee the full lifecycle of the bid process, from pre-solicitation planning through submission and client debriefing.
- Ensure bid deliverables are complete, compliant, and aligned with strategic and operational objectives.
- Manage timelines, workflows, and team accountability for all bids in progress.
- Provide consistent oversight and status reporting to the CEO and senior leadership.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate with internal stakeholders including estimating, operations, engineering, and finance to ensure accurate and cohesive bid packages.Lead coordination meetings, clarify expectations, and maintain alignment across all contributors.Serve as the communication hub between technical experts and leadership.Strategic Alignment & Quality Assurance
Identify bid risks, gaps, and opportunities for value engineering or innovation.Maintain quality control over all proposal components, ensuring consistency in tone, structure, and presentation.Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and upcoming opportunities to inform bid strategies.Team Leadership & Development
Guide and support bid team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Establish and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the bid management process.Mentor team members to develop stronger project coordination and communication skills.Process & Performance Management
Implement tools and systems for tracking bid progress, win rates, and lessons learned.Drive continuous improvement across bid workflows and internal collaboration.Champion best practices for documentation, compliance, and performance reporting.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical or business discipline (preferred).Minimum 710 years of experience in project management, proposal coordination, or pursuit leadership within heavy civil, marine construction, or infrastructure sectors.Proven ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder processes with strict deadlines.Strong technical comprehension of large-scale construction or marine projects (no dredge-specific experience required).Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills; able to manage up, down, and across functions.Demonstrated success working directly with executive leadership and managing high-performing teams.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive, detail-driven approach.Proficiency with standard business and project tools (MS Office Suite, Excel, Adobe, SharePoint, etc.).Ability to travel to project sites or client meetings as needed.WHAT WE OFFER :
