Job Description :

Drive engineering projects for our loading dock levelers , focusing on continuous improvement and changes to existing products. As a Project Engineer, you'll be the technical lead-coordinating across plants, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution. This is a fast-paced role where multiple priorities compete, and your work will have a direct impact on real-world operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead engineering projects for existing products, focusing on continuous improvement and engineering changes.

Coordinate with manufacturing plants, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to implement solutions effectively.

Serve as the primary technical point of contact for project execution.

Review and guide mechanical design concepts from engineers and associates.

Drive design reviews, risk assessments, and validation plans.

Conduct analysis, simulation, and testing to optimize product performance.

Oversee prototype builds, testing, and field validation.

Manage engineering documentation, change processes, and supplier engagement.

Promote use of digital tools and AI / ML methods to improve engineering processes.

Mentor junior engineers and support process improvement initiatives.

Principal Accountabilities

Deliver technically robust, cost-effective solutions on time and at high quality.

Lead complex projects independently without direct supervisory responsibility.

Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor within the team.

Drive collaboration and innovation across disciplines.

Ensure clear communication and alignment across all stakeholders, including plants and suppliers.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

Technical and Analytical Skills :

Advanced proficiency in mechanical product design, systems integration, and analysis.

Expertise in 3D CAD ( SolidWorks ) and data management tools.

Strong understanding of mechanical system interdependencies.

Experience designing and working with steel and other metals; familiarity with metal fabrication and welding processes.

Experience using simulation or modeling for validation.

Familiarity with AI / ML applications for predictive modeling or design automation.

Project and Collaboration Skills :

Ability to independently manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills, especially with plants and suppliers.

Excellent organization and prioritization skills.

Skilled in technical documentation and reporting.

Education and / or Experience

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline required .

5+ years of experience in mechanical product development or project engineering, preferably with existing products.

Proven record of technical leadership and project execution.

Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.

Proficiency with CAD tools ( SolidWorks ), data analysis, and documentation systems.

Experience with AI / ML-enabled design tools or data-driven processes preferred.

Willingness to travel up to 30% .
