About The Position
The Civil Division of the Maricopa County Attorney's Office represents and defends Maricopa County, its officials, and employees in various litigation matters in State and Federal Courts. Responsibilities include handling cases related to police liability, tort claims, environmental enforcement, medical claims, condemnation, and more. The successful candidate will serve as the lead attorney on assigned cases and collaborate with others to resolve cases effectively, providing strategic advice and liability assessments.
Division Overview
The Civil Services Division acts as a law firm for the County, defending legal actions and providing legal advice on public law topics. It comprises four practice groups : Litigation; Government Advice & Elected Officials; Human Resources, Behavioral Health, & Probate; and Appeals, Election Law, Public Records, & Tax.
