Job Description Summary
The Director of Supply Chain will lead the development, alignment, and execution of supply chain strategies within the business unit. This role is responsible for driving strategic consistency, operational excellence, and cross‑functional collaboration across all supply chain functions. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and hands‑on partner to the General Manager, with a deep understanding of supply chain systems, strong cross‑functional leadership skills, and a proven ability to lead transformational initiatives within a business.
Strategic Alignment Partnership
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support business unit growth and goals.
- Act as a strategic partner to sister businesses, identifying opportunities for collaboration, cost improvement, delivery performance, efficiency, and innovation when applicable.
- Collaborate with customer purchasing leaders to manage strategic pricing and supply chain discussions to drive key customer initiatives and support complex pricing negotiations.
Operational Excellence
Directly involved in supply chain operations including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and demand planning.Drive standardization of processes and systems to improve performance and reduce costs.Technology & Innovation
Champion digital transformation efforts including ERP optimization, supply chain analytics, and automation where applicable.Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to improve supply chain visibility and agility.Risk & Performance Management
Establish KPIs and dashboards to monitor supply chain performance.Lead risk mitigation strategies including supplier diversification, contingency planning, and compliance oversight. Must be familiar with ever changing tariffs, duties, exchange rate risks related to sales and purchase currency imbalances.Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.7+ years of progressive experience in supply chain leadership, preferably in a multi‑business manufacturing sector group‑level role.Proven success in strategic planning, operational execution, and cross‑functional leadership.Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Experience with ERP systems, supply chain analytics, and digital tools.Ability to work on site with occasional travel to key business locations and suppliers- which could include international travel.
