Currently hiring for shifts :
- 1st Shift : Monday-Thursday 6 am to 4 : 30 pm
- 2nd Shift : Monday-Thursday 3 : 30 pm to 2 : 00 am
POSITION SUMMARY :
Perform mechanical and visual inspections at all levels of parts and raw materials to ensure quality standards are met. Inclusive of Receiving, In-Process, Outside Process, and Final Inspections and / or Audits.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assist with incoming inspection, first-piece inspection, and final inspection of Sheet Metal and Machined parts.Performing inspection with measuring tools, evaluations on the product’s finishes (e.g., paint, plating, etc.), and marking and packing verification of the final product.Assisting in the disposition of nonconforming material.Interacting with personnel in manufacturing, shipping & receiving, engineering, and other functions about the status of inspection and prioritization of work.Ability to adjust to rapid changes in priorities.Verify quality of parts related to all inspection / audit levels.Review customer-supplied drawings and specifications to determine any critical dimensions.Complete any documentation required for conformance to customer specifications and / or internal procedures.Communicate non-conformances to respective managers or shift supervisors, determine the necessity for MRB, and obtain signatures as required for completion of Nonconformance Reports.Responsibility of inspecting product and first articles; Miscalculations could result in substantial loss due to scrapped parts, which are unable to be salvaged or reworked, and defective parts being shipped to the customer.Responsibility of performing First Piece inspections at any operation within the manufacturing facility as required.Crosstrain on an as-needed basis.EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
High school diploma; one to three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.One to three years of inspection experience with the ability to interpret G.D. & T. dimensioning schemes strongly preferred.Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers.Strong attention to detail.Mathematical ability normally acquired through high school education or equivalent required.Communication, writing, and reading ability normally acquired through high school education to be placed in successful usage to all levels of management required.Ability to use judgment to obtain accurate and precise measurements for determining acceptance and rejection based upon use of drawings, procedures, specifications, and appearance required.Overall ability to be accurate and expedient, thus avoiding substantial losses of material, labor, defective parts or late shipments being shipped to the customer required.Ability to clean and use care in the day-to-day usage and cleaning of inspection tools required. Neglect could result in inaccurate inspection of parts and damage or loss of tools.The ideal candidate would be diplomatic and able to communicate effectively under high-stress conditions.CRITICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Requires basic knowledge of mechanical inspection techniques acquired through experience or training.Requires knowledge of the usage of common measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gages, pin gages, etc.)Experience reading, reviewing, and interpreting part drawings and specifications to determine compliance with requirements.Familiarity with weld symbols is a plus.Familiarity with various manufacturing processes that are involved in Sheet Metal or Machined parts production is desirable but not required.Experience describing and documenting nonconformances.The capability to perform inspections with the help of a CMM machine is a plus.Ability to learn and use basic software applications to process and track materials through the production process.Requires mathematical ability to interpret measurements and specification requirements.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
