Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) is a vital caregiver for residents in our long-term care facility. In this role, you will provide compassionate, resident-centered care and support daily living activities under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Your responsibilities will include :

  • Delivering age-appropriate care according to care plans.
  • Assisting residents with personal care such as bathing, toileting, and grooming.
  • Monitoring and recording vital signs.
  • Supporting residents with mobility, including transfers and exercises.
  • Ensuring a positive dining experience by aiding residents during meals.
  • Communicating changes in residents' conditions to nursing staff.
  • Providing housekeeping and laundry assistance to maintain clean living environments.
  • Encouraging resident participation in wellness and recreational activities.

As a member of the nursing team, your commitment to infection prevention and control policies along with proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is crucial.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum age of 16. Previous experience in long-term care is a plus.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required, or must be obtained within four months of employment.
  • Annual completion of continuing education (minimum of 12 hours) and competency testing is necessary.
  • This position may require you to have a valid driver’s license and meet medical qualifications for driving, depending on facility needs.
