Under the direction of the Operations Controller, the Plant Accounting Analyst will be responsible for transactional cost accounting functions for the Performance Materials division and be based out of the Elmore, Ohio manufacturing facility. The incumbent will be responsible for various aspects of the month-end closing activities, the annual physical inventory, and the annual operating budget. Additional duties include assisting in both internal and external audits, preparation of assigned month-end account reconciliations, and maintenance of the standard cost system. Key interfaces are with plant management, engineering, quality, technical, EH&S and manufacturing personnel.

You Will Have an Opportunity to :

Perform transactional accounting items throughout the month as needed.

Perform month-end closing activities for assigned locations. This includes preparation of journal entries, management reports, and account reconciliations.

Conduct review and analysis related to production order activity, spending variances, balance sheet accuracy, and the need for accruals.

Assist in the annual operating budget including preparation of capital spending and depreciation plans and plant cost center spending budgets.

Assist with the annual physical inventory and audit of cycle counts at assigned locations.

Maintain compliance with US GAAP and all company accounting policies.

Maintain procedural documentation for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance initiatives.

Assist with requirements of both internal and external auditors during quarterly and annual audits.

Assist with special projects as needed.

Minimal travel (less than 15% annually)

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Minimum 1 year of accounting or finance experience preferred

Manufacturing or plant accounting experience preferred

Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and ability to accurately apply the principles.

Experience with SAP is preferred, but not required.

Proficient at Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
