Job description

Overview

The eDiscovery Project Analyst supports complex litigation and investigation matters by combining hands-on database administration with project coordination, internal workflow documentation, and cross-team collaboration. This role oversees technical eDiscovery workflows from data intake through production, manages day-to-day case activities, and contributes to operational improvements ensuring consistent and defensible service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain eDiscovery databases (e.g., Everlaw, Relativity), including folder structures, batch workflows, user permissions, coding panels, and analytics tools (e.g., email threading, predictive coding, search term reports).
  • Oversee ingestion and validation of ESI, ensuring accurate metadata mapping, deduplication, and document normalization.
  • Prepare, stage, and quality check productions in TIFF, PDF, native, and load file formats in compliance with client or court specifications.
  • Troubleshoot platform issues and support internal users with platform navigation, tagging workflows, and search strategies.
  • Serve as the central operational point of contact for assigned matters; manage task tracking, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Attend case team meetings to provide eDiscovery updates and coordinate across attorneys, paralegals, and IT staff.
  • Maintain and update project documentation including matter logs, review protocols, production logs, and communications summaries.
  • Monitor review progress and escalate risks, delays, or data exceptions to the project manager or case team leads.
  • Assist with creating, updating, and standardizing SOPs and checklists covering core eDiscovery functions (e.g., data ingestion, batching, production, workspace setup).
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and documentation efforts, including eDiscovery platform tips, QC workflows, and common issue resolutions.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend automation or documentation improvements to enhance team efficiency.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and the like.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Information Science, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of eDiscovery experience, with at least 1 year of direct experience using Everlaw.
  • Familiarity with EDRM workflows, metadata types, and standard production specifications.
  • Experience supporting attorneys and case teams in high-volume or time-sensitive litigation environments.
  • Strong organization and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, project trackers, and internal collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint, or similar).
  • Experience in a law firm, legal operations team, or eDiscovery vendor environment preferred.
  • Exposure to SOP or playbook development for repeatable legal workflows preferred.
  • Familiarity with various eDiscovery platforms (Everlaw, Relativity, DISCO, Logikcull) or processing tools (Nuix, IPRO) preferred.
  • Understanding of privilege logging, redaction workflows, and confidentiality protocols preferred.
