We are looking for an experienced Client Accounting Lead to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to oversee accounting operations, manage a small team, and build strong relationships with clients across industries such as life sciences, real estate, and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be skilled in delivering tailored accounting solutions while ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial processes.
Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage a small internal team, providing mentorship and support to ensure effective collaboration and attention to detail in growth.
- Review and oversee accounting deliverables to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs and tailoring accounting solutions accordingly.
- Supervise daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger maintenance, and month-end financial close.
- Perform and review reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, prepaids, fixed assets, and accruals.
- Ensure adherence to US GAAP standards and relevant compliance requirements.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and NetSuite to manage financial workflows efficiently.
- Adapt quickly to client-specific systems and processes, ensuring seamless integration.
- Provide strategic oversight and problem-solving to address client and internal challenges.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams to drive client satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in public accounting, with at least 3 years in a Controller or similar leadership role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage a team.
- Proficiency in accounting software, including NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, and Bill.com.
- Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and experience with document control.
- Proven ability to manage multiple clients and deliverables simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and internal teams.
- Expertise in financial processes such as month-end close and bank reconciliations.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and tools.
