Weekend Weather Anchor- Reporter / METEOROLOGIST

KTVN-TV 2 News Nevada with Sarkes Tarzian has an opening for a Weather Anchor- Reporter / Meteorologist. The purpose of this position is to research and present accurate and concise weather reports to the television viewer both from the studio and in the field. In addition, to add accurate and informative weather content to the station’s digital platforms, including website, app and social media. It is also to help give KTVN a credible, trusted image with the viewer.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Research and present daily weather reports for the newscasts and digital products.
• Report live from the field on the latest weather conditions and impacts.
• Prepare the graphic look of the weather reports through the use of Baron Weather Systems for on-air, online, and mobile.
• Seek current weather information from the National Weather Service and other reputable meteorology services.
• Communicate consistently with newscast and digital producers.
• Continuously work on all on-air skills, including lives, voice, and communication.
• Generate ideas to the producers and the Assignment Manager for the weather-related stories and live remotes.
