Job description

Job Title : Production Manager

Industry : Defense / Aerospace / High-Tech Manufacturing

On-site Location : Woodbridge, VA

Relocation Provided : Yes

Salary Range : $150,000 - $175,000

Job Overview : The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership in production management, a deep understanding of electro-mechanical assemblies, and a commitment to operational excellence through quality control, lean manufacturing, and process improvement. Minimum Requirements :

  • 5+ years of experience in production management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, with some experience in the aerospace & defense industry
  • Strong background in electro-mechanical assemblies and advanced manufacturing processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and continuous improvement strategies, certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience in resolving complex production issues with assembly
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and job order management (MS Dynamics or similar).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make quick decisions and problem-solve effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven experience in maintaining high performance standards and exceeding production & safety targets
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field

Responsibilities :

  • Supervise electro-mechanical assembly processes for high-quality product output.
  • Ensure production meets safety, quality, and performance standards.
  • Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and logistics to meet production goals.
  • Enforce quality control procedures and conduct audits for compliance.
  • Use ERP systems to manage schedules, inventory, and job orders accurately.
  • Apply lean manufacturing and 5S principles to improve efficiency and maintain a safe, organized workspace.
  • Analyze data to optimize production methods and enhance output quality.
  • Identify and resolve production challenges using root cause analysis.
  • Monitor production metrics to anticipate and prevent disruptions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in quality and workflow.
  • Lead, mentor, and schedule production staff to ensure high performance and team collaboration.
  • Ensure efficient operations that align with company goals and support on-time delivery
