Pediatric experience preferred but not required. Possibility of extension / converison, but not guaranteed. Hours are M-F, 8am-4 : 30pm Under the direct, on-premise supervision of a licensed physical therapist, provides physical therapy treatment procedures to an assigned inpatient caseload. - Reads and reviews the medical record to understand the patient's diagnosis, precautions, goals and treatment plans. Asks questions regarding unclear information.
- Provides direct interventions in individual or group sessions as planned, especially gait training, exercise and modalities. Can treat patients in any setting in the hospital, including the ambulatory network.
- Evaluates the patient's response to intervention and documents patient progress in the chart. Instructs patients and parents in home program, especially gait training and transfer.
- Informs the physical therapist of progress / problems with specific patients.
- Performs care coordination tasks associated with patient care, including communication with hospital and community providers, tracking of medical equipment, etc. Academic
