GE Aerospace is hiring a Government Accounting Manager in its Aerospace Business.
Job Description Summary
Responsible for vision, strategy, and execution to deliver maximum compliant recovery of cost through forward pricing and incurred cost rates, ensuring NorthStar’s accounting practices meet CAS via Disclosure Statement, leading Forward Pricing Rate Proposal and Incurred Cost Submission processes, negotiating with DCMA, daily interactions with finance, engineering and business stakeholders, support audits, and maintain alignment across Government Business team.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and publish indirect overhead and direct labor forward pricing, billing, and final rates synchronized to NorthStar’s financial planning calendar.
- Negotiate proposed rates with the DCMA.
- Support FPRP and ICs audits with the DCAA.
- Implement monthly cost monitoring, identify significant variances, determine root causes, present analysis and recommendations to leadership and DCMA DACO / ACO.
- Gather input, model impact of changes, submit Disclosure Statement, support audit and remediation.
- Implement business processes compliant with CAS, FAR, DFARS and other acquisition guidance.
- Maintain DS, FPRP and ICs processes supporting approval of DFARS Contractor Business Systems.
- Lead process improvement and lean transformation to eliminate waste, improve transparency, establish standard work, and enhance business value.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Accounting, Finance, Government Business or related field.Significant experience at a major defense contractor, DCMA or DCAA.Legal authorization to work in the U.S. Required, no visa sponsorship.Desired Characteristics
Deep domain expertise in Government Accounting – DS, FPRP, ICs processes.Experience interacting with senior DCMA leaders (ACO, DACO, CACO).Strong cost accounting background for U.S. Government contracting.Strong oral and written communication skills, able to tailor to audience.Proficiency in data analytics methods and tools.High level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks.Experience applying lean principles in transactional settings.Proven program / project leadership, documentation, planning, and execution skills.Experience leading change, building consensus, communicating openly, and sustaining new processes.Ability to balance strategic planning with tactical execution in constrained environments.Comfortable working in an ambiguous environment with shifting priorities.Compensation and Benefits
Base pay range : $128,800 - $171,700. Eligible for annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of base salary. Closing date : 12 / 18 / 25.
