Position Summary : The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work closely with Physical Therapists to provide rehabilitative services to residents in a skilled nursing setting. The PTA will help patients improve mobility, manage pain, restore physical function, and enhance overall quality of life. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a supportive and experienced therapy team. Key Responsibilities : Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment plans for residents. Provide direct patient care to help improve strength, mobility, and endurance. Monitor and document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Educate residents and families on exercises, mobility techniques, and continued care. Maintain a safe and positive therapeutic environment. Comply with all facility policies, state regulations, and professional standards. Qualifications : Active NM PTA License (or compact eligibility) Graduation from an accredited PTA program Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association preferred) 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing or similar setting preferred (new grads considered) Strong communication and documentation skills Team-oriented, reliable, and compassionate Why Socorro Wellness?
