HADOOP ENGINEER

State Fund has positions available for Hadoop Engineer at our Pleasanton Information Technology location. As a Hadoop Engineer you will be tasked with translating State Fund's user requirements into technical architecture vision and implementation.

The tasks for the Hadoop Engineer include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Translate client user requirements into technical architecture vision and implementation plan
• Design and implement an integrated Big Data platform and analytics solution
• Design and implement data collectors to collect and transport data to the Big Data Platform.
• Implement monitoring solution(s) for the Big Data platform to monitor health on the infrastructure.
• Oversight of tool evaluation and selection
• Hardware recommendations, sizing and configuration
• Oversight and / or coordination of system testing phase
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure on time delivery of scalable architecture.
• Adhere to development best practices including test driven development, and agile methodologies
• Problem and issue resolution
• Mentoring and developing junior staff
• Participation in proposal development and client presentations
• Work with the Business and IT teams to complete the project analysis, scoping, and scheduling
• Attend and contribute to project meetings
• Ensure that all project documentation is produced in the standard format, that it follows internal documentation processes and is reviewed and approved prior to delivery to State Fund.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Selected candidate(s) hired may be required to attend in-person Onboarding at our Vacaville office with expenses for attendance paid by State Fund.
