Responsibilities

• Operates computer-controlled milling machines (3-5 axis); including set-up and program editing with the ability to produce advanced components.
• Frequently reviews work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) to produce machined components.
• Selects, aligns and secures holding fixtures and cutting tools using hand tools and tool length offset equipment.
• Performs in-process inspection by checking accuracy of work against blueprints / specifications using advanced gaging techniques for product conformity.
• Collaborates with machinists, planners, programmers and engineers to evaluate needs, troubleshoot problems, and recommend solutions.
• Maintains safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
