Hematology / Oncology Physician Job Details

Location : Du Bois, Pennsylvania 15801 (Pennsylvania healthcare jobs)

Assignment Type : Locum Tenens Physician (Travel Contract)

Duration : 26 weeks (11 / 18 / 2025 – 5 / 19 / 2026)

Practice Setting : Outpatient clinic and hospital (adult patient population)

Schedule : Monday – Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM (8-hour shifts, 40 hours / week)

Average Census : 12-15 adult patients per day

EMR Systems : ONCO EMR (clinic), Cerner (hospital)

Clinical Support : Director of oncology, clinical RN supervisor, 9 oncology RNs, nurse navigators, medical assistants, clerical staff, pharmacist, pharmacy tech

Estimated Weekly Pay : $14,580 - $15,620

Hematology / Oncology Physician Qualifications

Board Certification in Hematology / Oncology (required for physician jobs)

Active Pennsylvania medical license preferred; IMLC accepted (Pennsylvania physician jobs)

DEA license (required)

BLS and ACLS certifications (required)

Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in hematology / oncology

Strong teamwork and communication skills; ability to work within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Key Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive hematology and oncology care to adult patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings

Manage new patient referrals, follow-up visits, and inpatient consults

Collaborate with RNs, nurse navigators, pharmacists, and other clinical support staff

Utilize ONCO EMR and Cerner for accurate documentation and charting

Refer patients for procedures such as bone marrow biopsies as clinically indicated

Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within the healthcare facility
