Responsibilities

• Provide best-in-class guest service : promptly greet guests; respond to guest questions / concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop; prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate that commitment by circulating throughout the store.
• Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
• Promptly and accurately process guest purchases / return transactions using Point-of-Sale (POS) system; handle changes, bag merchandise, provide receipts, and ensure top-quality guest service.
• Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer calls promptly and professionally; escalate customer issues to the Store Manager when appropriate.
• Promote GameStop's guest benefits, e.g., new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program.
• Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations for store associates and training staff in policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines.
• Observe associate performance, provide feedback, and address unsatisfactory performance as directed, ensuring alignment with guest service expectations.
• Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document performance feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
• Ensure associates complete onboarding, job training, and compliance training prior to opening or closing a shift; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics.
• Schedule store associates in line with guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain guest service levels.
• Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked for associates.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment function properly.
• Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ship daily.
• Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct closing checks and communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
• Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative and operational duties.
• Perform inventory counts, stock merchandise, and reorganize stock to ensure products are represented and accessible.
• Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions in the POS; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits as required.
• Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct merchandise counts and communicate discrepancies to management.
• Process defectives / recalls and stock pulls; label boxes with packing lists.
• Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines.
• Assist in maintaining store records; ensure manuals are up to date.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
• Adhere to opening and closing procedures.
