Purpose / Summary

Looking for a flexible, on-campus job? Work in the library and gain valuable experience while supporting fellow students.

The Student Assistant provides front-line support at the Auraria Library's Ask Us Desk and Innovation Garage, assisting users with accounts, checkouts, and resource requests. This role promotes a friendly, helpful environment for all library visitors and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

Checking-in and out items from various Auraria Library, Prospector, and Interlibrary Loan collections. Providing basic research assistance by helping users locate materials using our catalog and databases.Retrieving books from the second floor and processing materials. Serving as the incoming call center for the library and accurately answering or transferring callers.

Qualifications

Although this is an entry level position, having the following will be helpful :

• Experience providing quality customer service.
• Knowledge of campus resources and their locations.
• Previous library experience.

Customer Service : Communicating effectively and professionally with diverse users.

Problem Solving : Handling user inquiries and resolving issues related to library services.

Technical Skills : Using library systems to manage accounts, checkouts, and interlibrary loan requests.

Teamwork : Collaborating with staff and fellow student assistants to maintain smooth operations.

Attention to Detail : Accurately processing transactions and managing library materials.
