General Equipment Operator - Stormwater

Job Title

Drives and operates trucks and equipment; loads, hauls and distributes materials for use in construction and maintenance activities.

Examples of work include :

• Operating trucks and equipment, to include steel wheel, dump trucks, flat-beds, loaders, backhoes, spreaders, bush hogs, compactors, graders, dozers, rollers, four-wheel drive pickups, and tanker trucks.
• Operating hand tools, to include chainsaw, shovel, axe and rake.
• Performing physical labor in the maintenance, restoration or construction of roadways, drainage systems or disposal sites.
• Loading trucks with clay, sand, rock and soil.
• Inspecting trucks, tools and equipment; ensuring trucks, tools and equipment are properly maintained.
• Assisting with traffic control at work sites, to include flagging and erecting barricades and signs.
• Cutting trees, limbs and shrubbery on rights-of-way or adjacent road and traffic areas of assigned work site.
• Clearing ditches, culverts, drains, gutters and dams.
• Installing and cleaning waste and landfill drains.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
