POSITION SUMMARY :

The Engineering Manager is a pivotal role within our manufacturing plant. This role will be responsible for leading the engineering team and driving operational excellence.

This position will ensure successful execution and delivery of products and according to project timelines. This position partners and supports other functional team in driving profitable growth; and the ability support our vision of providing best in industry products to our partners and the end user customers.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

• Assess current vs. future capacity requirements and implement capacity improvements
• Develop and implement new and existing equipment acceptance plans
• Develop work methods and layouts
• Demonstrated use of capital project management skills to deliver safe, effective, low-cost capital solutions (Project planning, approval process, equipment specification, budget, Preventative Maintenance, acceptance plans, design review, safety assessments, capital request)
• Solid understanding of DMAIC tools; when to apply them, interpretation of results and application for effective solutions (Process map, process capability, C&E matrix, fishbone diagram, FMEA, MSA, DOE, control plan) Drive improvement activity.
• Collaborate with delivery partners to determine appropriate projects of focus, using available data from observation, queries, process data, and working partner input
• Interface with Advanced Design, Product Engineering, and other business partners on the design for manufacturability, process capability, and production builds of new product or product revisions.
• Mentor developing Technicians and interns / Co-ops
• Utilize Value Stream Mapping tool to develop current state VSM's, interpret maps to identify improvement opportunities and create future state VSM's

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS :

Willingness to travel

Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles. Green or Black Belt certified highly desirable.

Strong project management skills and working with a collaborative and cross functional team

Strong knowledge of quality systems, SPC and process capability.
