Job Summary :
The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for performing and / or assisting with all types of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and other related functional areas. This position will serve as a back-up for the payroll function, requiring continued involvement in the process to remain current. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing accounting processes and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Responsibilities :
- Entry and posting of journal entries
- Support full-cycle accounts payable and the accounts receivable activities at the plant level
- Support cash entries and daily cash reporting activities
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Perform payroll processing in a back-up capacity, including all related reports and tasks
- Assist with preparation of financial statements and reports
- Assist with various nuisance and property tax filings and other regulatory reporting requirements
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Work closely with plant personnel to assist with accounting and financial-related needs
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records
- Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and internal departments
- Assist with audits and corporate tax preparation as needed
- Other related duties as assigned
Requirements :
HS Diploma or EquivalentPrefer Associate Degree with a business or accounting concentration3+ years of full-charge bookkeeping experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment3+ years of payroll processing experienceStrong knowledge of AP, ARProficiency with accounting software, preferably in ERP systemsSolid understanding of accounting principlesExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsExceptional ability to work independently and dive deep into tasksStrong Excel skills and comfort with technologyAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesStrong communication and interpersonal skills
