About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : 2 years required, will accept first-time travelers with Level I trauma experience

License : Must have valid nursing license

Certifications : ACLS, PALS required, CPI preferred

Must-Have :

• Charge experience : 2 years
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• CPI Blue Card for Behavioral Health RNs

Description :

We are a Level 1 trauma, stroke, and STEMI emergency department.

We also have a pediatric emergency department.

A psych center is associated with the emergency department, but there may be no floating to it.

The unit requires floating between emergency and observation areas.

Daily census exceeds 200 visits.

The facility has 58 rooms and 58 beds.

Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.

All travelers are expected to comply with floating requirements.

50% of holidays and weekends are required on contracts.

Block scheduling may be possible for weekends but is not guaranteed.

Staffing and scheduling are self-managed.

Patient ratios are 4 : 1 during all shifts.

Interdisciplinary support includes teams in IV, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and transportation.

Special procedures and unit details may include arterial line management, central line care, and procedural sedation administration.

The emergency department provides care for various patient diagnoses, including traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and neuro-trauma.

All nursing staff will be expected to complete modules during orientation and annually.
