Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown float pool position requiring an OH or compact license and a minimum of 18 months recent specialty experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position in a hospital Stepdown Unit float pool
  • Cares for cardiac stepdown and progressive care patients
  • Schedule consists of 3x12 hour shifts, rotating day and night (7am-7 : 30pm and 7pm-7 : 30am)
  • Shifts may be variable to meet operational needs and may require rotation between days and nights
  • Traveler may be floated to other stepdown or similar units as needed
  • Must be able to work at least every other holiday
  • Permanent and per diem candidates must wait one year before returning to employment at this hospital system
  • Background checks must be clear of open cases and license must be free of any restrictions
  • Fingerprinting and badging must be completed onsite prior to the start date
  • Required pre-start training modules must be completed prior to assignment and may be repeated annually
  • Nurses are currently exempt from the facility's nicotine-free policy
  • PAPRs will not be available for caregivers with facial hair unless an approved medical or religious exemption is in place
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate

    • Requirements

  • Active OH or compact state RN license required at the time of consideration
  • Minimum of 18 months of permanent recent Cardiac Stepdown experience required
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required and must be current
  • ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate tests must be passed during orientation
  • At least one supervisory professional reference from the specialty is required for consideration
