A. PURPOSE

Completely cleans and sanitizes the entire processing and packaging area and all production machinery used in any given work day, to ensure the entire plant is kept in a clean, neat condition.

B. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cleans entire processing area, including slicers, dicers, ovens, K-trons, tables, conveyors,

chains, conveyors, floors, and walls.

  • Breaks down, cleans and sanitizes all equipment including tumblers, vibrator feeders,

    • hoppers, augers, blenders, tape machines, metal detectors, scales, packaging machines.

  • Empties and cleans all trash receptacles in production area.
  • Follows master sanitation schedule as instructed by supervisors.
  • Washes all floors using floor scrubbers and mops.
  • Adheres to company policies, procedures, good manufacturing practices, code of safe

    • practices, Standard Operating Procedures and Lockout / Tagout procedures.

  • Wears all required safety equipment.
  • Understand and use Sugar Foods Core Values : 1) Be Prepares, 2) Show

    • Up, 3) On Time, 4) Follow Through.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, stoop, and move in a safe and alert manner.
  • Must be able to move about 700 lbs. of equipment (equipment on wheels).
  • Must be able to work around chemicals
  • Must be able to drive a fork-lift

    • C. Physical Requirements ( All requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with a disability.)

    1. Physical activities of this position. (Check ALL that apply.)

  • Climbing : Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and / or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.
  • Balancing : Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount and kind of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.
  • Stooping : Bending body downward and forward bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Kneeling : Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Crouching : Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Crawling : Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
  • Reaching : Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Standing : Particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Walking : Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.
  • Pushing : Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
  • Pulling : Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Lifting : Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
  • Fingering : Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole arm as in handling.
  • Grasping : Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Feeling : Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
  • Talking : Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.
  • Vision : Close work.

    • 2. Degree of physical exertion required for the position. (Check ONE.)

  • Heavy Work : Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and / or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and / or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects

    • 3. Environmental conditions the employee will be subject to in this position. (Check ALL that apply.)

  • Both environmental conditions : Activities occur inside and outside.
  • Noise : There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
  • Vibration : Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or the whole body.
  • Hazard : Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
  • Atmospheric conditions : One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin : Fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation.
  • Oils : There is air and / or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
  • Humidity : Exposure to humid conditions ranging from 70 to 92 percents.

    • D. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors.
  • Must be able to attend work on a regular basis; show up on time and work overtime when requested
  • Must be safety conscious and possess the understanding of safety rules and be aware of salf and unsafe conditions.
  • Must work and handle sanitizing chemicals.
  • Not afraid of height
  • Must be able to read and comprehend instruction sheets provided with cleaning chemicals.
