NICU RN Job Details Location : Augusta, Georgia 30901 Healthcare Setting : Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Assignment Type : Locum tenens (Travel Nursing Contract) Start Date : October 13, 2025 End Date : February 2, 2026 Contract Duration : 16 weeks Hours per Week : 36 Nursing Shift : Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7 : 00pm - 7 : 00am) Weekend Requirement : 4 shifts per 4 weeks On-Call Requirement : 2-3 on-call shifts every 6 weeks Patient Ratio : 1 : 3 Unit Size : 40 beds, average daily census of 18 Charting System : Epic (required) Scrub Color : Navy Blue Estimated Weekly Pay : $1660 - $1700 per week NICU Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Georgia or Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission) Minimum 2 years of recent NICU RN experience (Level III NICU preferred) Previous travel nursing experience required BLS and NRP certifications required Proficiency with Epic charting system Clinical skills in arterial line management, central / implanted line care, bottle / breast / gavage feedings, isolation precautions, IV vasopressors, ventilator management (AC / PC / SIMV / CPAP / BIPAP / PEEP), and care for neonates 29-34 weeks Ability to work holidays as scheduled during assignment Two supervisory references (Manager or above) highly preferred NICU RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to premature and term infants with complications such as respiratory distress and hypoglycemia Manage a patient ratio of 1 : 3 in a busy Level III NICU Document patient care using Epic and manage medications with Pyxis Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapists, radiology, pharmacy, and social services Participate in self-scheduling and group rotation for shift selection Float to other units as needed (rare) Participate in on-call rotation and required weekend shifts Maintain compliance with all hospital policies and procedures Discover the charm of Augusta, Georgia, while making a difference in neonatal healthcare.
