Warehouse Overhead Crane Operator / Slab Handler

Location : Indianapolis, IN

Summary :

A growing distribution facility is seeking a dependable Warehouse Overhead Crane Operator to join their Indianapolis team. This hands-on role focuses on safely handling, loading, and moving stone slabs and similar materials using forklifts and overhead cranes. You’ll be part of a fast-moving environment that values safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Training :

This position requires a 3–4 week paid training period at a sister facility in Elk Grove Village, Illinois . All hotel accommodations and travel costs (gas) are covered by the company.

Schedule :

Monday to Friday : 7 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM

Two Saturdays per month : 7 : 00 AM – 1 : 00 PM

Pay & Employment :

Hourly rate : $19.75 – $22.75 / hour

Overtime paid at 1.5x base rate

Typical annual earnings : $41,800 – $56,600+ (based on experience, overtime, and bonuses)

Full-time, non-exempt position

Key Responsibilities :

Pull slab orders and prepare materials for loading

Safely move slabs using overhead cranes and forklifts

Load and secure customer trucks for delivery

Unload containers and restock warehouse inventory

Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse

Follow all company safety and quality standards

Support the team with additional warehouse duties as needed

Qualifications :

1+ year of warehouse experience required

Forklift experience required

Overhead crane experience strongly preferred (training provided for the right candidate)

High school diploma or equivalent

Valid driver’s license

Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work on your feet throughout the shift

Reliable, safety-conscious, and a team player

Comfortable using tablets or smartphones for basic work tasks
