Job descriptionAbility to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to drive a vehicle in heavy traffic and extended trips. Ability to stand in one location for extended periods in outside weather conditions, with breaks and lunch periods as required by State law. Work involves driving a vehicle where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with long distance trips or heavy traffic. Work is performed outside in a wide variety of weather conditions during. Dressing appropriately is important for comfort.
Seasonal Part Time Transportation Driver
This position is responsible for transporting passengers to and from Salvation Army activities and / or kettle / angel tree sites; makes pick-ups and deliveries of donated items and other supplies.
Key Responsibilities :
- Drives a Salvation Army vehicle during the Christmas season in order to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities or sites.
- Picks-up and delivers miscellaneous items and donated goods, as needed.
- Drives carefully and observes / complies with all traffic signs and road / weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :
What We Are Looking For In You :
High School Diploma or G.E.D. and two years experience operating an automotive vehicle, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
