Superintendent Engineer (PMS System Engineer) Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Superintendent Engineer (PMS System Engineer) to oversee the installation, configuration, and management of Planned Maintenance System (PMS) across our fleet. This role involves ensuring optimal vessel performance, maintaining compliance with maritime regulations, and providing technical support and training to onboard teams. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with PMS software, a solid maritime engineering background, and the ability to coordinate technical operations both at sea and ashore.

Superintendent Engineer (PMS System Engineer)  Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the installation, setup, and implementation of PMS software (such as ABS Wavesight or DNV ShipManager) across multiple vessels.
  • Ensure accurate data migration, equipment hierarchy setup, and scheduling within the PMS.
  • Provide technical support, guidance, and training to shipboard personnel on PMS usage and best practices.
  • Monitor vessel performance metrics and planned maintenance schedules to guarantee compliance and operational reliability.
  • Conduct technical inspections and audits onboard vessels to ensure system integrity and maintenance standards.
  • Troubleshoot machinery and equipment issues, including PMS-related problems, providing timely solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical and operations teams to optimize vessel performance and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate machinery records and maintenance logs within the PMS system.

Superintendent Engineer (PMS System Engineer) Position Requirements

  • Proven experience with PMS software installation, setup, and fleet-wide integration, preferably with systems like ABS Wavesight (formerly NS5) or DNV ShipManager.
  • Strong knowledge of vessel machinery, maintenance planning, and maritime regulations.
  • Hands-on experience gained from seagoing as a Chief Engineer or working as a superintendent / technical officer afloat or ashore.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of maritime engineering experience.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, communication, and training skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally to visit vessels and deliver training.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams and technical stakeholders.
