  • Specialized Patient Care: Focus on providing dedicated nursing care to patients with acute and chronic kidney disease requiring continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring.
  • Flexible Scheduling Options: Full-time positions with multiple shift choices (Day and Night) and various FTE options (e.g., 0.6 - 0.9 FTE).
  • Growth-Oriented Environment: Join a team that supports ongoing professional development and encourages specialty certification.

Position Summary:

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Renal Telemetry Unit at our esteemed partner medical facility in Everett, WA. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to work various shifts and FTEs, delivering specialized nursing care to adult and geriatric patients. You will manage individuals with primary renal conditions, often accompanied by co-morbid cardiac issues necessitating continuous telemetry monitoring. The ideal candidate will bring at least one year of acute care nursing experience and a strong dedication to patient safety, evidence-based practice, and collaborative care within this specialized unit.

Key Details:
  • Unit Focus: Renal Telemetry, caring for patients with acute/chronic kidney disease, electrolyte imbalances, and conditions requiring cardiac monitoring.
  • Schedule: Full-Time; Multiple shifts available (Day and Night, likely 12-hour configurations). Various FTE options available.
  • Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting.
  • Licensure/Certifications: Active Washington RN License and BLS (AHA) required upon hire.
  • Facility Culture: Our partner is committed to delivering world-class healthcare with a human connection, where your specialized skills and compassionate approach make a vital difference daily.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Comprehensive Clinical Care:
    • Conduct thorough nursing assessments for patients with renal disease and associated co-morbidities, focusing on cardiovascular and fluid/electrolyte status.
    • Continuously monitor, interpret, and respond to cardiac rhythms via telemetry, implementing appropriate interventions for arrhythmias and critical changes per established protocols.
    • Safely administer medications, including those specific to renal conditions and requiring renal dosage adjustments; manage IV therapies.
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, aiming to manage renal disease, prevent complications, and optimize cardiac health.
    • Provide care related to renal replacement therapies (e.g., pre- and post-dialysis care, assessment of access sites), as applicable to the unit's scope.
  • Patient Advocacy & Education:
    • Serve as a strong advocate for patients, particularly those managing chronic kidney disease, ensuring their autonomy and dignity are respected in care planning.
    • Educate patients and families on renal disease, dietary/fluid management, medication regimens, signs/symptoms of complications, and self-care strategies.
  • Safety, Quality & Professional Standards:
    • Uphold accountability for patient safety, vigilantly monitoring for complications of renal failure (fluid overload, electrolyte imbalances, uremia, infection).
    • Integrate evidence-based practices into daily care to enhance patient outcomes within the renal telemetry population.
    • Adhere to all safety protocols (patient, self, environmental) and practice to the full scope of licensure, guided by the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and nephrology/telemetry nursing standards.
  • Team Collaboration & Leadership:
    • Promote a culture of inquiry and continuous learning, exploring and disseminating research relevant to renal and telemetry care.
    • Collaborate effectively with nephrologists, cardiologists, dietitians, social workers, dialysis staff, and other members of the inter-professional care team.
    • Model professional nursing behaviors and contribute to a positive team environment.
Required Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
  • Current, unrestricted Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) License upon hire.
  • Current National Provider BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience in an acute care setting (e.g., medical-surgical, telemetry, step-down, or a dedicated nephrology unit).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • National Certification in a relevant area of specialty (e.g., Certified Nephrology Nurse - CNN, Progressive Care Certified Nurse - PCCN, Medical-Surgical Nursing - CMSRN) upon hire or willingness to obtain.
  • Prior experience working on a specialized renal, nephrology, or telemetry unit.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.

Compensation & Benefits:

Our partner facility offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support its valued nursing staff. (More specific details will be shared during the interview process).

To Apply:

If you are a dedicated RN with a passion for caring for patients with complex renal conditions requiring telemetry monitoring, and you meet the required qualifications, we encourage you to apply for this enriching opportunity in Everett, WA.
