The Bankruptcy Attorney is responsible for handling all bankruptcy matters for the firm.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :You are responsible for working your files and driving your case load for superior service & client results. This includes, but is not limited to :
Meet with existing clientsFile bankruptcies primarily under chapter 7 and 13 in Northern, Middle, and Southern District of FloridaFile bankruptcies under any other relevant chapterCollaborate with Attorneys and support staff regarding procedures utilized in the firm's bankruptcy practice, including steps in the process, documents, local filing requirements, and judicial tendenciesReview all bankruptcy filings such as proofs of claim, schedules, petitions, notices of mortgage payment change, and notices of fees and costsDraft pleadings, motions, notices, certifications, objections, orders, memoranda, and lettersAttend hearings, settlement conferences, and mediationsKeep clients apprised of status and developments in their cases with appropriate communication via e-mail, telephone, and / or client systemsPromptly review and respond to communications received via phone, e-mail, client systems, from clients, staff, opposing counsel, court staff, trustees, mediators, etc.Escalate matters when necessaryPerform other duties as assignedGeneral Office Requirements :o Start of office day :
At a minimum, you are to be in the office, at the latest, by 9am (or immediately after, if you are covering an early morning hearing)o End of office day :
At a minimum, you should in the office until 6pmPreparation for weekly meeting with supervising AttorneyCommunicate concisely with client at key stages to ensure effective case management and information to the clientAbide by firm policy, specifically, but not limited to attendance, PTO, and dress code provisions.Conduct oneself as a team playerConsistently be highly organizedConsistently be proactive & results orientedTimely complete all required administrative tasks including but not limited to :Time BillingFully & effectively utilizing the firm's case management system, in the processing of all your files, including but not limited to placement of all file notes and working tasks in the systemUtilize all of the firm's productivity dashboards and reporting to monitor case status & drive workflowDemonstrate the highest level of commitment to customer serviceReturn clients' emails and calls in a timely mannerMust protect the client's interests when filing for bankruptcy, ensuring the client is fully aware of risks of filing under a specific chapterJob Type : Full-time
Pay : $105,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
