Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform product designs specialized in experience design knowledge and developed business expertise
- Lead projects and/or programs within the product function with moderate scope impacting function or sub-function
- Create customer experiences across digital and physical products within general parameters under broad supervision
- May act as a subject matter resource for entry level and developing colleagues

- 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities
- Lead bar raising strategic experiences to improve inspiration of our products and services on PayPal.com to improve sign up and use of our products
- Independently partner with cross-functional team members in the conceptualization, and delivery of our customer-focused PayPal.com experience
- Deliver delightful experiences that focus on simplicity, ease of use, discoverability and comprehension, while being able to meet requirements and timelines
- Create new visual content (animations, GIFs, video) and work with our development teams that are implemented in a design systems mindset
- Demonstrate mastery in the full design process from data driven insights, design workflow to engineering documentation handoffs
- Contribute to lifecycle of motion design workflow, from standardizing processes with motion designers, to contributing motion design work to the design system, and collaborating on implementation with engineers
- Leverage and extend the use of established design system, style guide, patterns and assets in the creation of UX analysis, solutions, and deliverables
- Embrace A/B testing to understand what design solutions best work toward engaging users and their comprehension of our products and services
- Actively contribute to the wider UX community, possibly mentoring and developing others, leveraging your strengths to help others grow
Requirements
- A successful candidate will have at least 4+ years of experience of UX design and motion design
- Mastery of Figma using, creating and documenting components within a design system
- Experience with motion design with components, marketing assets, documenting motion patterns for development and guidelines is required.
- Expertise with motion design software (Principle, Adobe After Effects,)
- Ability to adapt new software and technology to improve our customer experience (i.e.: Mid Journey, Runway)
- Understanding the difference between low-level CSS animations and higher-level, complex motion design library component systems
- An understanding of the broader design system and motion design communities, with a desire to innovate next-generation systems, tooling and workflows
- Strong demonstration of visual craft and attention to detail
- Experience working with UX leads, brand teams, product designers, engineers, and product managers preferred
- Experience across products and platforms, mobile apps, financial services expertise an advantage
- Experience with animation in code is an advantage

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:

San Jose, California | ($143,500.00 - $212,850.00 Annually)
Additional Location(s) | Pay Range:
Austin, Texas | ($130,500.00 - $193,600.00 Annually) Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
