Description

The Business Analyst and Financial Accountant is responsible to support the Controller in areas of data extraction, analysis and interpretation, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, accounts management, business licensing and property tax compliance, auditing support, payroll, and process improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acts as liaison to bridge Finance and technical teams, ensuring effective communication and alignment on project objectives working closely with IT to extract, analyze and interpret data.
  • Takes on special projects as assigned by the Controller assisting with planning, monitoring, and controlling project activities to ensure successful delivery.
  • Heavy involvement in the month-end close process.
  • Manage payroll processing and reporting functions including 1099 processing.
  • Manage business licensing and property tax compliance.
  • Other activities as assigned by the Controller or upper Management.

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Has strong analytical skills with the ability to critically assess complex information, identify trends, and provide data-driven information.
  • Has a good understanding of IT systems, databases, and business analysis tools to effectively extract, interpret and manage data.
  • Has strong organizational skills to handle multiple streams of information relating to accounts payable, payroll and the general accounting process.
  • Has high computer literacy to use the PC and proprietary accounting systems.
  • Has excellent communication skills needed to explain financial findings to management and peers.
  • Has strong accounting aptitude and knowledge of GAAP.
  • Has a good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Has above average interpersonal skills.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in accounting or related field. CPA or CPA candidate preferable. Minimum of five years in an accounting role with some supervisory experience preferred.

    WORK SCHEDULE

    This is primarily a Monday - Friday 1st shift position with required overtime and / or weekend work during periods surrounding month-end or year-end close. Overtime may be expected surrounding additional deadlines as well.
