Overview
The Data Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of data collection, analysis, and reporting to support academic performance, operational efficiency, and compliance at Élan Academy. This role ensures that data-driven decision-making is at the core of instructional and administrative strategies, driving student achievement and school success.
This position reports to the Director of Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Collection & Management : Oversee the collection, organization, and maintenance of student, teacher, and school performance data.
- Data Systems : Manage student information systems (SIS - PowerSchool), assessment platforms, and other data systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Compliance : Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local data reporting requirements, including charter renewal and grant reporting.
- Data Tracking : Develop and maintain efficient data tracking processes for attendance, assessments, interventions, and other key school metrics.
- State Reporting : Setup all state reporting extracts and ensure files are uploaded to the EDLink server on a regular basis.
- State Coordination : Attend regular LDOE data coordinator calls and update systems as state requirements change.
- Powerschool Rollover : Perform annual setup and rollover of Powerschool, including calendar, course schedules, student registration, and report cards.
- SSO & Integrations : Maintain all integrations and Single Sign-On (SSO) connections so that students and staff can access appropriate data systems at all times (e.g., Clever, Google, PowerSchool).
- Data Analysis & Reporting : Analyze student achievement data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for academic improvement. Generate reports and dashboards for school leadership, instructional teams, and the board to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaboration : Work with school leaders to track progress toward school goals, including academic performance, enrollment, and retention.
- Enrollment & Technology : Lead on collection of all student documentation, enrollment and re-enrollment online processes; manage student records for new students and withdrawals; coordinate student entrance / exit procedures; serve as point of contact for NOLA-PS enrollment systems; maintain technology work order systems and respond to tickets; manage asset inventory (50+ staff laptops and ~350 student Chromebooks).
- Training & Support : Train school staff on data systems and data-driven decision-making; support teachers and administrators in using data to inform instruction and student support strategies; ensure staff understands compliance expectations and reporting deadlines.
- Collaboration & Compliance : Align data practices with academic priorities, ensure FERPA, HIPAA, and other data privacy regulations compliance, and support school improvement initiatives with data insights.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Education, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field (Master's preferred).3+ years of experience in school K-12 data management or school-based data systems.Proficiency in student information systems (PowerSchool, Clever, Salesforce) and assessment platforms.Proficiency in state reporting systems (EDLink, ESer & EScholar).Strong skills in Excel, Google Sheets, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI preferred).Experience in K-12 education, preferably in a charter school setting.Knowledge of state and federal education accountability measures.Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for educators and leaders.Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing data for a school undergoing charter renewal or performance-based accountability.Background in educational assessment and instructional data analysis.Familiarity with intervention tracking and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).Compensation & Benefits
