Job description :

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and parents to support student success.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with IDEA and Illinois state regulations.
  • Design and implement effective behavior intervention strategies.
  • Provide academic interventions tailored to student needs.
  • Conduct and participate in Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
  • Apply strong curricular knowledge to support both behavioral and academic programming.
  • Supervise and guide paraprofessionals in implementing accommodations and modifications.
  • Actively engage in the problem-solving team process to support student learning and behavior.
  • Collect and analyze progress monitoring data to drive instructional decisions.
  • Demonstrate initiative, problem-solving abilities, and flexibility in adapting to student needs.
  • Maintain CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification and apply crisis intervention strategies as needed.
  • Assume any other duties as may from time to time be delegated by immediate Supervisor.
  • Make adjustments in the scope of responsibilities in the best interest of the school district.

Qualifications :

  • Illinois Professional Educator License with Learning Behavior Specialist 1 endorsement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or similar.
