Position Summary :
OUR Rescue is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Intern professional to join our team. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain practical experience in nonprofit accounting. As an Accounting Intern, you will support our accounting department in various administrative and clerical tasks related to financial record-keeping and data entry.
Responsibilities :
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial records, such as invoices, bills, and receipts.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable :
- Support the Accounts Payable process by verifying invoices and preparing payment requests.
- Assist in Accounts Receivable tasks by monitoring incoming payments and updating records.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of travel and expense reports.
- Review employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Support the finance team in preparing and organizing documentation for audits and tax filings.
- Provide general administrative support, such as filing, organizing documents, and responding to inquiries.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data.
Qualifications :
Desire to expand knowledge of the accounting profession.Basic understanding of ethical financial principles and procedures.Proficiency in using spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets) and other relevant applications.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.Flexibility to work part-time hours or during specific seasons as determined by the company's needs.Benefits :
