Job description

Fantastic opportunity to join HIT Specialists Infusion Pharmacy, a friendly, full-service sterile compounding pharmacy located in NW Albuquerque.

The Infusion Pharmacist is responsible for carrying out the daily duties and responsibilities for the provision of alternate site / home health pharmacy services with minimal supervision.

Hours of operation are 8 : 00am to 5 : 00pm plus shared nights / weekends on-call.

Education / Experience :

  • PharmD and a current NM pharmacy license are required. An advanced pharmacy degree is preferred.
  • Continuing education necessary to maintain current licensure in all states licensed.
  • Minimum of one year sterile compounding experience preferred.
  • Hospital pharmacy experience with a willingness to learn home infusion also acceptable.
  • Leadership experience preferred; willingness to learn and positive attitude required.

Major Responsibilities :

  • Supervises the activities of pharmacy technicians and delivery / equipment technicians.
  • Assists the pharmacist(s) with the dispensing, compounding, and delivery activities.
  • Checks and maintains inventory levels; places inventory orders, logs in new inventories.
  • Checks for expired / unusable products and dispose of them properly.
  • Documents all activities appropriately.
  • Answers and initiates phone calls related to providing pharmaceutical care
  • Prepares delivery tickets.
  • Assists the patient delivery representative in orders, receiving, maintaining and tracking all infusion related equipment.
  • Fulfills the duties of the patient delivery representative when required.
  • Maximizes the efficiency and productivity of the pharmacy and delivery operations.
  • Strives to achieve cost effectiveness in all areas (including purchasing / inventory control, staffing delivery services)
  • On-call on a rotation as scheduled.'
