Since 1952, Light of Life Rescue Mission has been a safe refuge for homeless and hurting people in the Pittsburgh area.
The Mission currently seeks a Senior Development Officer . This role requires a strategic fundraising leader to manage a portfolio of high-level donors ($10,000–$100,000+) while also supporting the growth of Light of Life's annual giving program . The position bridges the major gifts and annual giving strategies, ensuring a strong donor pipeline from entry-level donors through transformational giving.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a portfolio of 100–125 major donors and prospects, securing five- and six-figure gifts (multi-year where possible).
- Develop and execute strategic plans for donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship in collaboration with the Director of Development.
- Provide leadership for annual giving initiatives (direct mail, digital, peer-to-peer, and staff / board giving campaigns), ensuring strategies align with major gift cultivation.
- Partner with Marketing and Communications to create compelling donor appeals and campaigns.
- Identify and qualify 10+ new prospects annually to build the donor pipeline.
- Represent Light of Life at donor events, church and corporate presentations, and community gatherings.
- Serve as a mentor / resource for Development team members on donor strategy and best practices.
- Track progress, report on revenue goals, and ensure data integrity in CRM system.

Bachelor's degree, advanced training in fundraising preferred.5+ years of progressive fundraising experience with a track record of closing major gifts.QUALIFICATIONS
Strong understanding of annual giving best practices and donor pipeline development.Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet revenue goals.Commitment to the mission and values of Light of Life.WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL FACTORS
Th e position entails occasional evening and weekend work to accommodate donor meetings and events.Travel may occur to meet with donors and attend fundraising events.This role requires being in the office at least four days per week .
