Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Nashville, TN 37203 (Tennessee nursing jobs) Healthcare Setting : 36-bed Medical-Surgical (Med / Surg) unit - 12 Tower Shift : 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM (12-hour night shifts) Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 3 / 2025 - End : 2 / 2 / 2026) Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Pay : $1530-$1640 Weekend Requirement : 4 weekend shifts per 4-week block Patient Ratios : 1 : 4 / 1 : 5 EMR Documentation : Meditech Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state) BLS (Basic Life Support) and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg RN experience in a hospital setting Proficient in patient assessments and general care for wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, stroke, and seizure management Experience with post-operative care, including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs Familiarity with PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, and Alaris IV Pumps preferred Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical support skills Willingness to float over core staff as needed Dress code : Navy, Blue, White, Black, Gray, or Ceil Blue scrubs Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to diverse Med / Surg patients Conduct bedside shift reports and perform safety checks every 1-2 hours Manage wounds, tracheostomies, ostomies, drains, chest tubes, and patients with strokes or seizures Provide post-op care for patients with amputations, ostomies, and wound vacs Participate in healthcare initiatives for HAI and fall prevention, including CVC and Foley monitoring Ensure 100% medication scanning compliance, including controlled substances Collaborate with an energetic healthcare team and supportive leadership Adhere to hospital policies and attendance requirements Experience the best of Nashville healthcare jobs while growing your nursing career in a supportive and rewarding environment.
