Anticipated Hiring Range : $19.00 - $23.75 hourly

Full Pay Range : $19.00 - $28.50 hourly

Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

We Require

Three years of experience in the care and treatment of persons with mental health disorders and behavioral difficulties

High school diploma or GED

Post-secondary education may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis

We Also Value

Experience working in the behavioral health field

Working knowledge of the petitioning process for court-ordered treatment in Maricopa County

Job Contributions

Work with the psychiatric provider staff and mental health staff to determine which patients need involuntary treatment

Observe patients identified as needing involuntary treatment for symptoms of mental illness, including danger to self, danger to others, or symptoms indicating that the patient is persistently or acutely disabled, or gravely disabled

Complete petition applications for involuntary, court-ordered treatment and coordinate with outpatient teams to initiate the petitioning process

Testify in court to observe patient behaviors

Identify patients who are on a court order for involuntary treatment and makes that information available to provider staff

Maintain documentation for all patient contact

Assist provider staff in coordinating care with the patient's outpatient clinic

Working Conditions

Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check and maintain MCSO jail access

Travel or floating to various clinical locations is required within a 5-mile radius. Must be able to respond to emergencies

Must maintain CPR certification and get on the floor to perform CPR / chest compressions, push medical equipment, climb stairs, and lift patients on a gurney

Must be able to work inside a jail and stand / walk / bend for extended periods of time throughout the shift

This position requires accurately handling a high volume of work, communicating with a culturally diverse patient population, and adapting to frequent changes, interruptions, and unscheduled tasks

Position includes day or night shift work, which may include weekends and holidays
